I have been prompted to put on record for the benefit of my grandchildren in later years the salient incidents that have happened in my quite ordinary life to date.
This is because I believe the majority of the population's grandchildren know very little of their grandparents early life and only ever see and remember them as ailing , grumpy old people, often demanding of their grandchildrens time when they themselves have much more exciting and interesting things to do with youngsters of their own age.
But, at 30 or 40 these same youngsters, now adults, begin to wish that they had known more about these old folk, who by this time have usually long passed on and unless one believes in Spiritualism are uncontactable. Anyway, the spooky spiritualist, if he or she "makes contact" only hears the things he or she wishes to dream up , not a very good substitute for the facts !
