Wood Green Animal Centre

We are currently collecting items to sell on behalf of Wood Green Animal Centre. This registered charity has three centres and has been taking in and rehoming animals for over eighty years.

Pictures: The Dog taken from The Wood Green Animal Centre website.

The Chickens Picture taken by Dave Hughes. Two rehomed chickens with one other, living very happily in my son's garden in Highams Park.

Items, such as videos, DVD's, CD's and hardback books can be left at The Plough and all funds raised by the sale of these will go towards making a donation to the centre and funding an educational visit for young schoolchildren.

If you would like to donate other items or would like further information please call Dave on 020 8509 2635.

Thanks to Russ Chandler and John Pridige for their generous help in getting The Plough's appeal off to a good start.

We will be doing two fundraising events at The Plough Inn, one in February and the other in May.
Dave is hoping to arrange a night featuring the music that was played at The Cooks Ferry, Edmonton. It is hoped that people from that time will attend and hopefully we may be able to arrange the odd surprise or two?

Many famous bands played at this very popular venue. Names like Tyrannosaurus Rex, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Rod Stewart, Sam Apple Pie, Nic Pickett, Thin Lizzy, Ten Years After, Hawkwind, The Graham Bond Organisation, The Who and The Yardbirds, to name a few.

If anyone has any photos from or of The Cooks Ferry Inn or would like to contribute to the evening in some way please contact Dave on 020 8509 2635.

Dave is also looking for any stories from people who went to The Cooks Ferry Inn, maybe you met your partner there, maybe you had an unforgettable night their, whatever it was email Dave with your story and if we get enough we may have them printed out for people to read on the night.
